FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do you connect Trig wiring harnesses to the aircraft electrical system?
The wiring harnesses come with connections for power and ground. A circuit breaker as specified in the installation manual should be used.
I need to remove a connector to install the harness in my aircraft?
In most installations, simply connect the wiring harness to the Trig unit and stow any excess wire in a safe and tidy way. If you need to remove a connection D-Sub to route the wires through a tight space in your aircraft, we recommend that you use an inexpensive crimp removal tool.
1. Open the Controller D-Sub connector - this is easier as there are fewer wires in this connector.
2. Use a crimp removal tool to carefully take out each wire and its connected pin.
3. Route the cable through the aircraft in a safe method.
4. When complete re-insert the pins into the Controller D-Sub.
5. Check and test the connections are correct and working.
This avoids having to cut wires and retains the superior reliability that a crimp connector offers over a soldered wire.
